Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park

Opened and operated by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the 12,000-seat Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park, located in a suburb north of Atlanta, hosts popular music, symphonic pops and classical symphony.

Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided audio-video and theatre consulting, working closely with the architect on seating layouts, sightlines to the stage for the various configurations and the infrastructure design for performance lighting, sound, video and technical communication systems. The firm also provided design layouts for the image magnification (IMAG) front projection system and delay loudspeaker array systems that provide coverage to patrons seated on the lawn.

The large stage (85’ high, 120’ wide and 67’ deep), designed to accommodate a wide range of presentations from the regular program of popular and classical music to touring shows, includes a system of empty cable troughs and pass-throughs allowing temporary stage cables to be concealed and providing a pathway for visiting shows to route cabling to the house sound control position located within the fixed seating area.

The campus also includes accommodation for a future 1,200-seat performing arts center and associated support facilities.
