San Francisco Symphony, SoundBox

Located behind Davies Symphony Hall, SoundBox is an adaptation of Zellerbach Rehearsal Hall A.  The staging rehearsal space has been reimagined as a flexible, intimate music hall and multi-media theatre with capacity for up to 400 patrons.

Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided theatre consulting, including planning and design of room configurations, seating, overhead rigging, lighting systems design, media and projection facilities.  The firm also served as owner’s rep and facilitator for the installation of a Meyer Sound Constellation System.  This specially-designed sound system transforms the acoustics to suit the varied performances in a constantly shifting environment and creates an immersive audience experience.

Upon opening, SoundBox received many accolades in the press and sold out all initial shows.
