San Francisco Street Light Plan
In 2010, Auerbach Glasow was selected to create the San Francisco Street Light Plan. The project follows the firm’s work on the San Francisco Better Streets project, completed in 2007 which established overall design guidelines for the City to enhance the pedestrian experience.
The Street Light Plan involved the analysis of existing conditions, review of emerging technologies, development of lighting schemes by area type, light level calculations, establishment of light principles and selection criteria, and creation of a portfolio of standard light fixture options.
The completed project report includes step-by-step lighting procedures for developers including light loss factors that should be used in calculations.
The project work was phased with each portion as a separate task. In total there were nine individual tasks.
