Sacred Heart School, Campbell Center for the Performing Arts
Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided theatre consulting for the programming and design of a 350-seat theatre on the campus of the Sacred Heart School. Respecting the requirements of the client, the firm collaborated on the siting and overall design of the Campbell Center for the Performing Arts that recognized the existing historic architecture and rose labyrinth plaza that would be contained by the new building and historic structures. The modified thrust-stage theatre, performance and teaching facilities are on the pedestrian and courtyard level. Less frequently used elements are located on the lower level to maintain a tight floor plate necessary to accommodate the health and well-being of protected heritage oak trees on the school grounds.
The Campbell Center serves as the central gathering place for the Sacred Heart community.
