The Academy of Music
Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided audio-video and theatre consulting for the phased renovation of the Academy of Music, a historic venue originally built in 1857.
Improvements included removal of the raked stage, design and construction of a new stage floor, modernization of the orchestra pit, installation of a new theatrical lighting system and new spotlight positions, rigging system replacement and refurbishment of the seating in the main level of the auditorium, vastly improving sightlines. A new sound system and audio-video system was also added.
The renovation process was done with complete respect to the landmark status of this historic attraction. The full spectrum of improvements was done during a five-year phased process enabling The Academy of Music not to cancel any season of performances during construction.
