Epic Systems Corporation, Epicenter

Selected based on their unique design of the 4,000-seat fan-shaped divisible auditorium at the New Orleans Convention Center, Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided full theatre consulting services and audio-video systems design for medical software giant Epic Systems Corporation’s training facility – Voyager Hall – and its auditorium – Epicenter. The firm’s work focused on the plan and layout of the auditorium and its support facilities with the goal of providing a production and event space seating 5,000 that could handle plenary session and smaller lectures in each of its three component sub-auditoria. The audio reinforcement and projection systems are among the most complex in the Epicenter including strategically placed loudspeakers that provide full auditorium coverage in all configurations. In addition to providing necessary acoustic signal delay and equalization, the audio digital signal processing system provides a means of splitting signals to their appropriate room of origin when the room is divided.

Auerbach Pollock Friedlander also provided conceptual design planning and budgeting for Epic’s proposed 15,000-seat Deep Space auditorium – quite possibly the largest privately-owned corporate auditorium in North America.
