Charles M. Schultz Museum

The Charles M. Schulz Museum was donated as a gift to the late cartoonist’s beloved Santa Rosa community by his wife. The Museum’s mission is to preserve, display, educate and celebrate Charles M. Schulz and the Peanuts characters, as well as support the cartoon arts. Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided theatre and audio-video consulting for the museum, working closely with Jean Schulz and the designer C. David Robinson Architects on the venue’s intimate 6,000-square-foot gallery and 2,000-square-foot Great Hall focusing on the cartoonist’s 50-year career that made his Peanuts characters a part of American life for generations. Keeping things on a manageable scale, the museum has smaller exhibit spaces on two floors, a research library, a 100-seat theater (showing animated specials and other programs) and an art room to inspire visitors’ to create their own work. All of this makes it a friendly museum for both children and adults.
