Brigham Young University, BYU-Idaho Center Auditorium and HDTV Broadcast Center

Auerbach Pollock Friedlander provided programming, planning, full-scope theatre and audio-video consulting services for the 15,000-seat auditorium and broadcast center at Brigham Young University’s BYU-Idaho Center.

Designing the audio set-up for such a large auditorium meant giving the space an intimate quality with primary focus placed on intelligibility for spoken word and sound quality for musical performances via carefully integrated sound systems, room acoustics and video systems.

The broadcast center includes a 2,000-square-foot shooting studio, two production control rooms, two audio live- mix/post- production rooms, a voice-over room, teleprompter room, senior video, robotic camera operator center, media transfer room, master control/ transmission room, four edit rooms and a television technical operations center sized to support the entire campus. Brigham Young University-Idaho is part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints education system.
