Come join our team in San Francisco! You’ll get to work on some really cool international and domestic projects – occasionally high-rise, at times underground, the theatrical and astronomical, private residences and public exhibits, progressive solutions in historic renovations, institutions but never institutional. Experiment with mock-ups in our in-house Light Lab using a variety of light fixtures and materials, and gain hands-on experience with the latest lighting technology. With us, you will put your college degree to good use while designing for real-world applications.
Our firm has been around since 1972 and we want to share our knowledge and experience with you. Here, you’ll enjoy autonomy while being part of our dedicated and loyal crew.
You will show off your skills in Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, and hand drafting. You know how to perform computer-generated and by-hand lighting calcs. You have a college degree in a related discipline, possibly even a master’s, but you’re still enthusiastic about learning. Bonus points if you know your way around Adobe Creative Suite, 3D AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Rhino. You’ll select lighting fixtures for projects and produce fixture schedules based on design concepts. Our typical work week is Monday to Friday, though there may be occasional after-hours work for night site visits and infrequent weekend work for project deadlines. Please be authorized to work in the United States.
In exchange, you will be a part of a strong, passionate design team who enjoys health insurance, commuter benefits, and a 401(k) plan (which is never too early to think about) in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Our office is near the base of Telegraph Hill, and a quick walk to North Beach, Chinatown, and historic Jackson Square where you’ll find some of the oldest buildings in the city. Our expansive office windows illuminate a daylight-filled, open studio where you can easily collaborate with your team. Our location is oh-so-convenient to public transportation – we are a short BART ride away from the East Bay, and San Francisco’s network of sustainable public transportation can get you anywhere within this 7 x 7 city.
