YUKIKO YOSHIDA, IESNA, LC, ASSOCIATE IALD

Yukiko Yoshida joined Auerbach Glasow French in 1995 after completing a Masters of Science in Lighting at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. During her tenure with Auerbach Glasow French her projects have included the new campus of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music; the historic renovation of the Fox California Theatre in San Jose, California; Main Street Plaza at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah; WKYC TV station and headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio; the Yosemite National Park Redevelopment project in California; St. Joseph’s Church in Lincoln, California; and prototype stores for GAP, Baby GAP and GAP Body. Her responsibilities encompass all aspects of design and project management.
While pursuing her M.S. at Rensselaer, Ms. Yoshida worked as a research assistant on various projects involving human factors in lighting. This work included extensive research on the effects of reflected glare on the VDT screen in the office environment. She also holds a B.F.A. in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design and an Associate degree in Architectural Design and Technology from Tokai Polytechnic College in Nagoya, Japan.
Ms. Yoshida’s interest in architectural lighting design developed while working in Japan as an interior designer for a design firm specializing in retail stores and restaurants.
Ms. Yoshida’s background in design and research brings a unique blend of talent to our lighting projects. She serves as a committee member on the Quality of the Visual Environment Committee for the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. She holds a Lighting Certification (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions.
