With over sixteen years of experience as a sound, AV and multimedia consultant and systems installation/integration contractor, Daniel Mei brings a unique, field-tested approach to his design and consulting work for Auerbach Pollock Friedlander. His systems design projects cover a wide range of facilities including multi-room performing arts centers, university theatres, digital projection venues and houses of worship.

Mr. Mei’s design and installation experience includes sound reinforcement systems, assistive listening systems for the hearing impaired, background music and paging systems, theatrical production communication systems, room combining systems, sound masking systems, low voltage control systems, closed circuit television and modulated video systems, large format video projection, teleconferencing, videoconferencing systems and master control systems.

Current projects include the Atlanta Symphony’s new Symphony Center; Purdue University, Visual and Performing Arts Center; the new orientation center at George Washington’s Mount Vernon; the US Capitol Visitors Center; the Virginia Thomas Law Center For The Performing Arts at West Virginia Wesleyan College; renovations of the LDS Tabernacle in Salt Lake City; and Callaway Auditorium at LaGrange College in Georgia.

His other project experience since joining Auerbach Pollock Friedlander in 1996, includes the renovations of the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, Maryland; the War Memorial in Trenton, New Jersey; new sound, video and communication systems for the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey; the Tufte Performance and Production Center and the Cutler Majestic Theatre renovation at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts; The Center For The Creative and Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Carnegie Hall, Judy and Arthur Zankel Hall in New York City; Hayden Planetarium, Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City; and multimedia systems for the IBM “Solutions for a Small Planet” exhibit at EPCOT Center and the AT&T Innoventions Exhibit at Disneyland.

His previous experience as a systems installation contractor reinforces the depth of his understanding of traditional AV systems for corporate boardrooms and meeting rooms, multi-room banquet facilities and government buildings.

Mr. Mei received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Hartford, majoring in Acoustics and Music. His curriculum included courses in engineering acoustics, noise control, sound recording technology and computer music as well as formal musical training.
